Meet Christine

Originally from Kirriemuir now living and working in Aberdeenshire Christine Cochrane is a self-taught visual landscape artist.

Christine developed her art skills while maintaining a balance of being a single parent and part-time employment in NHS and Third sector organisations never missing the opportunity to promote art and creativity as an essential tool for personal and community well-being.

After being made redundant in 2019 Christine decided to realise a lifelong ambition of creating art on a full-time basis.

During a school trip as a teenager I fell in love with the Highlands after being introduced to the magic of the Highland scenery.

Inspired by the everchanging colours and moods of the landscape I work mainly in watercolours. I paint because I love it and the challenges it brings.

I create paintings that reflect the local landscape of our time and I value the fact that these fabulous areas of natural beauty appear to resist man’s onslaught. I believe that art is for everyone.
